I purchased a copy of One Dyke Cozy by Rhani D’Chae for the purpose of an honest review and it was a pleasure to read.
One Dyke Cozy is a wonderful story that is a mixture of coming of age and building lasting relationships and was beautifully written!
Rhani’s characters are very well written and easy to relate to. They have depth and emotion that is felt throughout the book! From the moment Gabby and Shy meet until the moment they part is a lesson on how to build a lasting friendship, loyalty, and how to love someone completely and without judgement!
Rhani D’Chae has a gift with the written word and she has shared it with us once again in writing One Dyke Cozy!
I give One Dyke Cozy by Rhani D’ Chae five cups of steaming hot Room With Books coffee and I highly recommend you read it!

My name is Marie and it is so nice to meet you. I must first explain to you that I thought a ‘dyke’ was something else, so believe me, I was in for a surprise!
I have only one criticism for the writing of your book, and that is the beginning paragraphs. I think it was clever to use the time factor, as it does fit in with the ultimate goal of the story. However, I feel the one paragraph or two at most would have been sufficient. The several paragraphs that continued speaking of time delayed the introduction of your theme and of informing your reader of what you wanted to be known of importance.
Otherwise you had a tight story that moved along briskly. Your close was fabulous, and kept me guessing to the end (I thought) I knew, but I was wrong. Although I am not familiar with the life style, your words were believable leaving concern in my heart for the two of you. Your story was real and rich, and seemed to me complete in motivation, activity, and emotion. Congratulations!
I’ve had the pleasure of reading and reviewing this author with her works ‘Shadow of The Drill” and “A Perilous Thirst” … in consequence I was excited to find this gem waiting to be read.
Have you ever read a book that touches every exposed nerve of raw emotion? That’s precisely how ‘One Dyke Cozy’ affected me.
The wonderful and at times harsh moments of honesty shine between these beautifully written pages. Author Rhani D’Chae has a rare gift of perception, a gift that enables her to dig deeply into her characters subconscious and elevate that character to a place where they become as real to the reader as their own reflection in a mirror.
Shy is a gay female, learning to survive in a world that still whispered the word gay behind closed doors, and then only in selected company. The existence of gays was barely acknowledged by people afraid that to allow these human beings their right to be different would somehow contaminate their closeted perceptions of a ‘pristine’ world.
Gabby is a child of that pristine existence, and her friendship with Shy will take her to places where her loyalty to her friend will be tested again and again. The author holds your heart in her hands with every word that she pens.
If you seek a book that will reach deep inside you, that will both touch and confound you, then you will find that right here.
One Dyke Cozy has to be in my top 5 of books read in 2017.
Do yourself a favor … read it, it will stay in your memory for a long time to come.
I am learning more and more how much I enjoy romance stories. I am surprised, since I have been a hardcore fan of sci-fi and fantasy for so many years. Good writing is good writing! This story is perfectly balanced sweetness for me. It comes across as so vivid, partly because it’s written in first person POV, a writing style I happen to enjoy a good deal because of the intimacy it offers when done well. Rhani has done a great job in this book!
I really like the cover also, it illustrates the story to a tee. The scene-setting is concise and very appropriate, the adult situations are handled skillfully without ignoring the seamy sides that do exist in real life.
The characters grow and develop very nicely through all stages of life. The dialogue is downright funny at times, as these two friends banter back and forth.
This is book is so well written, I give it a score of 4.8 stars; the score would have been higher except for the small handful of spelling errors I found.
